In the blink of an eye, WebP Cloud Services’ WebP Cloud has been established for over a year. From the inception of WebP Cloud, we set a goal for multi-region development. Leveraging Hetzner, our regional choices were “Germany,” “USA,” and “Finland.”
In November 2023, we launched the USA region: “WebP Cloud is now available in the United States region 🇺🇸.”
At this time of year, we are opening the Finland region as a Christmas gift for everyone!
Since the Finland region is very close to the Germany region, with a latency of only around 24ms within Hetzner’s internal network, to reduce regional overlap and improve our machine utilization efficiency, the Finland region will exist as a special region known as the Playground. We will test various new architectures and features in this region.
Specifically, for users, the Proxy in the Finland region has the following features:
- All requests are not counted towards billing 🤩
- This means you can see the request volume in the Proxy without deducting from your Quota.
- It is very suitable for use when you are unsure about the daily traffic volume of your site.
- No SLA guarantees 🫡
- Since we will use this region to test new features and it has the aforementioned non-billing feature, this region will not have any SLA guarantees.
We will strive to ensure nine 8s SLA (88.8888888%).
- Custom domains are not supported 🙈
- All Proxies in the Finland region will receive a
*****.webp.fidomain, but custom domains are not supported.
- All Proxies in the Finland region will receive a
Apart from the above features, the other Proxy functions are exactly the same as in other regions.
